Why Work with Me?

My approach to exercise goes beyond simply burning calories. I use my background in exercise physiology, health coaching, nutrition, and metabolic health to help clients understand why they are training and what we are trying to change. Using Keiser equipment and targeted exercise strategies, I focus on building strength and muscle while improving body composition, metabolic fitness, and long-term health.

Common Questions

Do I need to already be physically fit?

Training can be adjusted to your current strength, fitness level, and physical abilities.

Is this mainly a weight-loss program?

Body weight is only one measure. The goal is to improve body composition by reducing excess body fat while maintaining or building muscle, strength, and physical capacity.

How is this different from going to a gym?

Metabolic Fitness is more targeted than simply exercising or burning calories. Training is selected and progressed with specific goals such as strength, muscle development, body composition, cardiovascular fitness, and metabolic health.

Can exercise improve insulin resistance?

Regular resistance and cardiovascular exercise can improve insulin sensitivity and glucose regulation. The specific response varies between individuals and is influenced by nutrition, sleep, activity level, medications, and other health factors.

What equipment will I use?

Most resistance training is performed using Keiser pneumatic equipment, which allows resistance to be adjusted precisely and makes it possible to train strength, power, and controlled movement across a wide range of abilities. The pneumatic resistance means no weight stack and less momentum, which is easier on joint stress.

How often should I train?

That depends on your goals, current fitness level, and the amount of activity you perform outside of your sessions. A training schedule can be developed around your individual needs. Usually 1 - 3 times per week. Not every session needs to be supervised.
